THE VISION

All of us have them.  They're not always exactly secrets, but the things we don't say for fear of making someone uncomfortable by airing our dirty laundry.  Sometimes, these very things are the ones that wreak havoc on us from the inside.

The Clothesline Podcast was created as an outlet for the stories people don't want to hear.  Whether it's something traumatic, or that contradicts popular opinion, or even something we're proud of but afraid to make others feel small, we keep many of our most powerful human experiences trapped within ourselves for the sake of others.

The Clothesline takes those stories, spins them into a medium that calls to the masses, and hangs them out on our podcast, waiting for the unsuspecting listener to hear and love the tales they thought they couldn't handle.

Society shapes us into people who don't want to talk to a loved one of someone who committed suicide over love, but who love tragedy-themed art like the story of Romeo & Juliet.

We at The Clothesline also love that art, but we'd like to take it a bit further.  Since our stories will be based on real life, we'll also be sharing however much of the real-life story inspiring the episode's piece the subject is comfortable with in the podcast itself and/or here on our blog.  Why?

We want to encourage people to be open to hearing the stories of others, to learn about what they face in their day-to-day lives, and to support them.  Share.  Listen.  Break the stigma.
